RTX 3050 vs 2060: Compare Nvidia Graphics Cards | Plates

GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 3050 and these are graphics cards from Nvidia placed between the entry-level and mid-range markets. Made with a variety of structures, they offer current technologies such as DLSS and ray tracing. Both are found in the Brazilian market from R $ 2,199, but differ greatly in performance.

Despite being an older model, the RTX 2060 still surpasses the RTX 3050 in comparison of benchmark results and performance in recent games. Next, the TechTudo Has separated the major technical specifications of GPUs so that you can compare them and see which one is best for your PC.

Between the two boards, the RTX 2060 is the oldest and is powered by a graphics processor crafted with 1,920 CUDA processing cores. In addition, it has 240 tensor cores – used in artificial intelligence work – and another 30 RT cores, dedicated to processing real-time ray tracing effects.

The RTX 3050 is part of the latest architecture from Nvidia. This GeForce processor has 2,560 CUDA cores, 80 tensor and 20 RT units. The RTX 2060 runs at speeds of 1,365 to 1,680 MHz, with the 3050’s GPU reaching high speeds between 1,552 and 1,777 MHz.

The two video cards are also different in RAM. 2060 has a total of 6 GB of GDDR6 in its service, connected to the graphics processor on the card via a 192-bit interface. Two components are enough to exchange 336GB of data per second.

The RTX 3050 comes with 8GB, but since it uses a slim 128-bit interface, it ends up trading at 224GB / s with the GPU. The difference is significant and the output is low memory, indicating that the RTX 2060 will perform better in games running at higher resolutions.

With the wide advantage over the RTX 3050 over previous numbers, prime calculations and speeds, the new card shows that it is better. But in practice, the raw computational performance is still compatible with the RTX 2060. In synthetic benchmark tests, the former is up to 20% faster.

The two GeForce are very similar in terms of embedded technology. In both cases, ray tracing and DLSS are supported. However, as with raw performance measurements, tests show that the RTX 2060 is better at racing than its sister counterpart. In DLSS, a similar scenario is repeated, but here the results vary depending on the game.

In addition to the technologies embedded in the hardware, both Nvidia graphics cards have access to the latest features for drivers and the GeForce experience. With AI, Nvidia Ansel utilization for high quality image and video capture of games, tools that show lives with better effects in real time, as well as filter support in older games are just a few examples.

Slower than its older sister, the RTX 3050 has one advantage: it is more efficient, requiring less power to run the card. It is more economical with Nvidia rated TBP at 130 W, heats up less and emits less noise.

The RTX 2060 requires more power to operate at its 100% capacity: 160W on Nvidia accounts. While the manufacturer recommends a minimum power supply of 450 W on the PC with the 2060, the RTX 3050 requires only a 300 W unit to operate consistently.

The prices of the two cards are very similar in the Brazilian market. In our search, we found both the RTX 2060 and the RTX 3050 starting at R $ 2,199 in the cheapest ad, taking into account well-known hardware stores.

There are more expensive options for both GPUs, mainly the technical features changed by the partner manufacturers: the factory-overlocked RTX 2060 Evo Dual R from Asus goes for $ 2,799, for example. The one-click overclocked Galaxy Edition of the RTX 3050 is priced at no less than R $ 2,598.

In essence, the RTX 2060 is a better graphics card than the RTX 3050, although the coolness of the numbers suggests otherwise. The card has lower speeds and cores, but is provided by faster memory and offers 23% higher performance than the 3050.

In addition to being faster, the RTX 2060 is basically the same as the RTX 3050, making it harder to spot the latest card. The only utility that can justify the investment in 3050 is the user interested in building a computer with a compact case. In this case, smaller versions of the RTX 3050 became a more rational choice than the 2060.
